Inspiring Backyard Wedding

Angie, my dear and lovely friend who I worked with in the UK, married the love of her life in her very own backyard.

Angie and Mike started dating three months before her two and a half year stint in England. Soon after she moved back stateside, the Mike-ster put some blingity bling on that girl's finger! I always told Angie that I wanted to be there when they got married. Fortunately, I had time and travel luck on my side.
And what a beautifully creative wedding it was...

Did I mention that she made her dress?...And the silverware chandeliers...and all of the other crazy loveliness that you see.

Here are a few snapshots from the day.

Family Photos

I found these two gems up in Ohio at my aunt and uncle's house.
The handsome man in the top photo is my Grandfather and below him is my adorable mother, Marlene...rockin' the beehive. Totally frame-worthy.

The Unstoppable Man: Robert Raven Kraft

For the past 36 years, Robert Raven Kraft has run eight miles on the sands of South Beach, without missing a day. "Not Rain, Lightening, Hurricanes, nor Injuries have kept him away." -RavenRun.net

In the past month, Raven has been experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath. Because of a long history of heart disease in his family, Kraft had to schedule a procedure that could've ended his 36 year running streak.

The doctors performed an angiogram from the wrist and found no blockage in his arteries. When Raven was waiting to be released, he managed to sneak in some mileage running down the halls of the hospital. He was later dropped off at the beach where he completed the full eight for the day.

Raven was kind enough to allow me to document it all.

Raven ran at midnight, securing his run for Friday, Sept. 23, 2011.

Home

After two and a half months in Norway, my two suitcases and I have made our way back to Miami.

It's strange, home is beginning to take on a whole new meaning. After spending enough time flitting about, just about anywhere I land starts to feel like home after a short week or two.
But for now, Miami it is...
