Harry Perry

I was walking down the Venice Beach boardwalk with a friend when I first ran into Harry Perry. I began talking to him and then stopped somewhere mid-sentance and said, "You are such a beautiful man...those eyes..." he smiled and told me that love was coming my way. Such a sweet little encounter. I love California.

Lucidity Festival: Part II

Lucidity Festival: Part I

So, I've packed up my bags and headed out to LA to intern for a lovely photographer, Joe Pugliese. If you don't know his work, you should. It's absolutely stunning. In California it's necessary to embrace the weird and wonderful...thank you Lucidity for taking me there. Fun times in Santa Barbara. "Lucidity is an open-source transformational arts and music festival. We call it open-source because we will be co-creating this festival experience with YOU! We invite you to come play with us, get involved with one of our six themed villages, bring art, lead a workshop, spark a spontaneous flash mob, embody a character from your dreams, be silly and wild and free! We are bringing together a world class lineup of musical talent and weaving them together with the sounds and vibrations of our beloved local stars. Our galleries will showcase the sickest fine art our region has to offer, promising to enrich the festival as a visual voyage. Art installations will pleasure participants with multi-sensory stimulation while themed environments will create intimate settings for personal connections. Lucidity’s environmental commitment is to leave Live Oak better than before." ~Lucidity Website

Miami Boyfriend Interviews

Throughout my travels, I've noticed that the collection of men that live in a city serve as the perfect description of what that city is like. Miami Boyfriends is an ongoing photographic series by Mary Beth Koeth. The Miami Boyfriend Interviews show the interaction that typically takes place before they are photographed. Portraits of an Eyewear Collector

In the early 90's, Jerrod New relocated to a sunny island full of beautiful, active people. “When you arrive in South Beach without a pair of sunglasses, you quickly come to realize that eyewear is an essential accessory for the lifestyle down here.” says New. “Not only is it functional, it’s an avenue of self-expression.” Somewhere along the way, eyewear became a passion of Jerrod’s and he opened the first Sunglass Hut store on Miami Beach. Twenty years and twenty frames later, Mr. New has a collection of some of the most iconic eyewear of the 20th and now 21st centuries. When he was just starting off on a limited budget, Oakley Frogskins became his frame of choice. Frogskins are Oakley's Collector Edition, classic wayfarer-style frames in bold colors with a reasonable one hundred ten dollar price-point. “I consider my Frogskin collection to be the starting point of my journey. They’re a collection within my collection.” New is currently sketching out ideas for his very own collection of eyewear that he is calling, Ultimate Vision. Portraits of an Eyewear Collector demonstrates Jerrod's transformative abilities from what he considers to be the 'ultimate accessory'.

D. R. (David Raphael) Hildebrand

My friend D. R. Hildebrand is a writer and a model based in New York City. We met through my roommate, Josh, and have kept in touch ever since. He released his first novel, Walking Marina, late last year. Walking Marina is one of the first books ever written by a model about the male modeling industry. Check out the trailer and his website
