Cozy Copenhagen

I’m going to use the word cozy...only because it seemed to be the token word that the Danes use to describe things. Americans use cute, the Brits say lovely, and in Scandinavia, everything's cozy...and I totally understand where they’re coming from. It’s not uncommon to walk up to a restaurant, see candles in the window, sheepskin on the chairs, and blankets to bundle up with if you choose to sit outside. As far away as I am, I feel at home here in Scandinavia. Cozy is a good thing.

Copenhagen is an incredible city showered with people who have an eye for fashion and styling. Most of the time, you only catch a quick glimpse as they zoom by on their bikes...which are usually just as cool looking as what they have on.

As far as things to do and places to go in Copenhagen, here’s my list.
Two days in this charming city was not nearly enough.

Cheap places to grab something quick and delicious.
When you’re in school, haute cuisine is sadly not an option...not for this student anyway.

Thomas Sandwich Bar

Just as cozy as it is delicious. $10 per sandwich
14 Lille Strandstraede

Sandwish Christianshavn
I’m not a burger kind of girl, but this was honestly the best burger that I’ve ever had. Don’t go expecting your typical American hamburger...it’ll look strange, but trust me, it tastes great. $10
Sankt Annæ Gade 3B

Conditoriet La Glace
I didn’t actually eat here, but a local strongly recommended it for coffee and dessert. I did walk by and peep in the windows...the cakes are stunning, I can only imagine what they taste like.
Skoubogade 3

Clothing Stores that’ll rock your world...and your bank account.

NORR
I bought a dress...and didn’t eat for the rest of the weekend.

Things to see...because there are definitely things that you won’t see anywhere else!

* Such as, Christiania...I don’t know what to say other than, I’ve honestly never seen anything like it.
* Tivoli. The rides are nothing special, but it’s for sure something to see.
* Strøget (Shopping/pedestrian street)
* Nyhavn (because you can’t go to Copenhagen and not see this charming area)
* Rosenborg Castle...and the surrounding gardens. I spent two mornings in these gardens...just walking around and enjoying the view.
* Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek . So many museums that I wanted to visit, but not enough time. The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek was a good choice...now I just have to go back to see the others.

  1. I really enjoyed Copenhagen, and I LOVED the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek museum. If you go back, you should do a bike tour that I did - the guide was AMAZING.

I really loved the Danes, too. I found them very welcoming and friendly. And yes, cozy is a good word for Copenhagen.

It was expensive though... but... Scandic countries *are* expensive.
